Recently I was asked to research the Spirit of Antichrist. I have decided to share the article I have written. the reason I am sharing this is because there is a lot of information flying around concerning this spirit, but many of the things I have read concern, “The Antichrist” or “The Lawless One” which is the Eschatological Personification of this spirit in the final days. However when it comes to the spirit itself and its operation in the church today, there is little information that is readily available. Many of the articles that are available are confusing at best. It was my goal to make this article clear to explain this issue in a manner that any discerning Christian would be able to understand. The article I have written is 5 pages, and because of this, I will be splitting it into several posts over the next few days. Check back every day for the next installment. Today will be the introduction, I will highlight everything that you need to know, and each following portion will go further in depth with each of my main points.
With that said, Here we go::
Every great magic trick consists of three parts or acts. The first part is called “The Pledge”. The magician shows you something ordinary: a deck of cards, a bird or a man. He shows you this object. Perhaps he asks you to inspect it to see if it is indeed real, unaltered, normal. But of course… it probably isn’t. The second act is called “The Turn”. The magician takes the ordinary something and makes it do something extraordinary. Now you’re looking for the secret… but you won’t find it, because of course you’re not really looking. You don’t really want to know. You want to be fooled. But you wouldn’t clap yet. Because making something disappear isn’t enough; you have to bring it back. That’s why every magic trick has a third act, the hardest part, the part we call “The Prestige”.
This is the introduction to one of my personal favourite movies, 2006’s “The Prestige” Starring Michael Caine, Christian Bale, and Hugh Jackman. It hit me as I was watching this today that it is a great description of the Spirit of Antichrist. You see, Antichrist is a deceptive, divisive, dangerous spirit, and it is wildly at work in the body of Christ today.
Before we begin our study of Antichrist, I want to tell you the 5 main points you need to know. If you get nothing out of reading this, I pray you get these five.
- Antichrist targets the anointing, the deliverers and the Christ.
- Antichrist is a spirit. It is not a singular person or event.
- Antichrist is a divisive spirit using division to break the church apart to crush both the anointing, and the spreading of the Truth of Jesus as Son of God come in Flesh.
- Antichrist is birthed not of the world, but of the church. The Antichrist spirit may life in the world, but it manifests itself in the church.
- Antichrist is a deceptive spirit. It tries to blind the people from walking in the truth of Christ.
Keep an eye out tomorrow as we take a closer look at the first point as we delve into the definition and etymology of the word “Antichrist” If you have any questions and thoughts feel free to share.
[P.S. I am aware that Ozzy is not The Antichrist, but it has been a longstanding urban legend, and I thought this picture fit well, so I went with it. Do not be offended, thank you.]
