Understanding Antichrists [3]

Continuing from the previous 2 days, here is part three on the antichrist spirit.

Read Part 1 & Part 2.

As the movie often quotes, “Are you watching closely?” Lets look at Biblical references to The Spirit of Antichrist. The Word Antichrist appears 5 times in the First and second epistle of John. It is never capitalized.

[1st John 2:18-19 NASB Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichristshave appeared; from this we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not really of us; for if they had been of us, they would have remained with us; but they went out, so that it would be shown that they all are not of us.]

You first will take note where John says ‘antichrist is coming’ he does not say The Antichrist to signify one person, or event, but alludes to a broader meaning. Then he continues in saying that many antichrists have come. John is not speaking of “The Antichrist” of the Tribulation, but rather something bigger, and broader. A spirit of antichrist.

Then as we reach to verse 19, we see John discussing the birth of antichrist. It went out from us, but was not with us. This shows me that those who are Divisive are exhibiting characteristics of the antichrist. The Antichrist spirit wants to separate the church to rip it apart. Why? This is because if it can destroy the church, it keeps the anointing from flowing.

If we know that unity brings anointing, then we know that division hinders anointing. IF we are all mavericks and lone rangers we cannot come into alignment with others to strengthen the anointing. Just as there are many antichrists all working to oppose and replace the anointing, the deliverers and the Christ, the church should be many, uniting together to raise the banner of Christ, the deliverers and the anointing. Also if it can divide the church it can hinder the passing of the Gospel message. This helps to attack at the Christ himself.

Furthermore by this verse, we see that it is birthed in the church. Look at those who called for the crucifixion of Jesus. It was not the Romans, but rather the Pharisees who were the leaders of the Jewish ‘church’

“The Pledge”is simply that, a pledge. Antichrist begins his deception in the church. Looking like, talking like, acting like, and convincing others that he is like us. But he is not.

Antichrist wants to be known as one of us, because if he can be one of us, he can gain power and influence amongst us. As Matthew 24:24 says, “For false Christs and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to mislead, if possible, even the elect.”

You cannot be deceived by someone who doesn’t have a level of trust or relationship with you. The spirit of Antichrist is a spirit of Power. It has to be if it intends to take the place of the one true Christ. Jesus Christ our Lord was a man who performed signs, wonders, and miracles. Thus, Antichrist’s must also be of power, or at least perceived to be of power.

[1st John 2:22 NASB Who is the liar but the one who denies that Jesus is the Christ? This is the antichrist, the one who denies the Father and the Son.]

This is what is referred to as a direct correlation. The Apostle John tells us that The Antichrist is he who denies Jesus as the Christ. This also provides us with a clear understanding of the nature of the spirit. It is a lying spirit. Notice it never says that it denies Jesus, but that Jesus is the Christ. Many with the antichrist spirit will be open to Jesus, but will deny his status as supreme anointed of the Lord.

Tomorrow I will post the net installment. As I have said this was a Five page paper so there is still a fair bit of information to be shared. feedback is always welcomed.

[P.S. I am aware that Ozzy is not The Antichrist, but it has been a longstanding urban legend, and I thought this picture fit well, so I went with it. Do not be offended, thank you.]
